WASHINGTON -- Jay Gruden completed his interview for the Washington Redskins coaching job Wednesday, making the Cincinnati Bengals offensive co-ordinator the sixth known candidate to meet with general manager Bruce Allen. The team confirmed that Gruden met with Allen at Redskins Park. Gruden has ties with several people within the Redskins organization. He worked under Allen as an assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and with defensive co-ordinator Jim Haslett in the UFL. Haslett was retained when Mike Shanahan was fired last week after a 3-13 season, although the new head coach will decide whether Haslett stays or goes. Gruden, the brother of former NFL head coach Jon Gruden, has drawn interest from at least three other teams seeking to fill a head coaching vacancy.
