GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida junior outside hitter Carli Snyder had a career high 21 kills and 21 points to pick up Active Ankle Challenge MVP honors as the No. 7 Gators battled to a 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-22) victory against a tough Marshall squad Saturday afternoon in the Lemerand Center.The Thundering Herd grabbed the opening set 25-23, but Floridas three-headed offensive monster, consisting of Snyder, Alex Holston (17k, 8b) and Rhamat Alhassan (13k, 8b), posted 60 of the Gators 75 points down the stretch as Florida went on to win the next three sets to rack up UFs 10th straight win. Both Alhassan and Holston joined Snyder on the All-Tournament Team.Redshirt sophomore setter Allie Monserez posted her first double-double as a Gator with a career high 53 assists, while scooping up a team-tying 12 digs alongside junior libero Caroline Knop to aid UFs efforts. Freshman Allie Gregory made it three Gators in double-digit digs with 10, her most this season.It was Floridas potent block that was the difference in Saturdays thrilling tournament finale: the Gators posted 15 blocks to just one for the Thundering Herd.
